Rachael –
An America woman to me is sometimes too much to handle. I have to admit I have many an American friend, as I lived in the town of Chicago for 4 months, but sometimes I cannot handle an American woman.
Rachael likes to tell stories for a long long time. When somebody tries to put their own point of view into the story she decides to talk even louder than she already was talking and continues ‘her’ story.
There is not ability to recognise that the other people around them are bored of you talking and want to hear someone else speak. Maybe it was because I wasn’t drinking but I started to stare at the wall. It seemed a better entertainment than listening to her story. Maybe this is harsh, but to not have any idea about the people around you is being a little tad selfish.
I like to give a listening ear, but only for so long.
She starts to tell us about her marriage to an Egyptian and that it has lasted for 9 years. She is a scuba diving instructor in Sharm el Sheik and loves it so much. But I can’t help but wonder what has now happened to her relationship as she has almost run away to Dahab.
Dahab seems to be full of these type of people, and I must admit I used to be one of them. I was looking for an escape, and Dahab suddenly became much more than that.
Rachael continues to talk about herself. Everything that comes out of her mouth she needs about 5 minutes to think if it is the right word to use, but it seems that English is her first language you see. Each sentence seems to be like Shakespeare and there is no stopping her from continuing her masterpiece.
Haven’t we all seen and heard someone like this? I mean I know I talk a lot but at least I give other people the time of day.
