An Egyptian woman

I have met many people while abroad but none as interesting as this woman compared to the extremely following crowd of egyptian women that exist here. All the women do what the other EXPECTS them to do and therefore following trends that make up their existence.
This woman I speak about seems to have just woken up one day and decided she couldn't do what was expected of her and took charge in making her life what she indeed wanted it to be. This woman works in a stressful high position job at a school and has five children plus a husband to look after. The husband is not so much a house help in Egypt so creates more work for the wife at home. She does not cover her hair, although she wears very modest clothing and covers elsewhere she is one of few people I have met without doing so in this small town.
She can talk up to men, and order people to do things which seems a quality women are told to not display. They are supposed to be humble and quiet and reserved, but these character traits can at times but work ethics under as how can a woman ask for help within a job if there are only men to ask. How can a woman work effectively if they are not allowed to sit in the staff room, for fear of being left alone with a man. How can woman grow and extend their skills if they don't speak up or if they don't desire anything more? These questions are more so for the typical woman I have come to know, except for this one friend of mine.
I'm proud that she has instilled her ways onto her own daughters of older ages, and that they are studying for a better future and a job. There is so much research that begs to show the appreciation of women, and their knowledge while also depicting just how good their drive and work ethic can be, so why indeed do most of the women don't work at all for anything. I have to admit times are changing, but mainly in the big cities which I do not get to experience.
I am glad to have met such a powerful and guiding woman here in this new home of mine as I can reflect on big issues of the wider world. I do not just have to go by the news I see and read, but can therefore make up my own mind about what these people's lives are like and why their lives are indeed different to my own.
